Creativity at Sherborne Qatar

A well balanced and varied programme of activities is on offer for all children throughout the school year. The Enrichment Programme takes place from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. from Sunday to Wednesday. There are also Inter-House events on many Wednesdays for the Preparatory School which include sports, music and academic events.

Places for each enrichment club are allocated on a first come-first serve basis. We use an online sign up form, which is easy to navigate and complete.

The majority of activities are run by school teaching staff, who want to share their interests and passions with the children, or by fully accredited outside agencies that have been invited to join our programme. School run activities are free of charge but activities run by outside instructors (such as Sailing, Smash Tennis and Tri-Golf) have a termly charge.

Our aim is to provide an after school activity programme which focuses on extension, challenge and fun for all pupils. At Sherborne Qatar, we value each child's unique personality and strongly believe in the importance of encouraging all aspects of a child's development and individuality, be they academic, social, creative, musical or sporting.

DIRECTIONS TO HORSE RIDING STABLES AT AL SAMARIYAH

This term we are able to offer horse riding lessons as part of the activities programme on a Sunday or Monday until half term. The children are taken to the stables straight from school in the school bus and are brought back to school arriving at 4pm. If your child has been unable to join the sessions a number of our pupils have arranged lessons directly with the stables at the weekends.

From the Bani Hajer Roundabout near Sherborne School you take the Dukhan Road away from Doha. After about 5 minutes.. you get to the big roundabout by Al Rayyan Sports Centre you go straight on towards Al Shahaniya and Dukhan. After about another 5 minutes you turn off at the sign for the Camel Racetrack. When you come off the fast road you go all the way round the roundabout and back onto the Dukhan Road heading towards Doha. You then need to take the 4th exit which is signposted Al Samariyah, Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum. You turn off here and go down the track. You go past a security guard and then turn left at the blue sign for Baytur Compound. You go straight on for about 1 minute, this is off-road. Ahead of you are the walls for the stables.
