What is the benefit of a boys only school?
While co-educational learning is right for many children, some learn better in a single-gender environment where subjects and activities can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of pupils more finely. At our boys' only prep school in Qatar, this approach allows us to focus specifically on how boys learn best.
Some boys perform better when they do not have girls present in lessons, as there are no additional pressures. Our school creates less competition, and many boys show greater confidence and character in this environment. Our STEM-focused boys' school in Doha enables pupils to participate more actively, ask questions freely, and explore all subjects without hesitation.
The rich heritage of Sherborne UK involves separate boys' and girls' schools, and we feel it is fitting that as the sister schools of our UK counterpart, we also aim to offer this unique choice to our parent body. Our British curriculum boys' school in Doha continues this 450-year tradition whilst providing the specialised approach that helps boys become confident, articulate future leaders.
What is the academic focus of our boys-only school?
At Sherborne Qatar School for Boys, we focus on STEM education combined with leadership development.
Our preparatory school builds strong foundations in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics while developing essential leadership qualities.
We develop confident communicators through public speaking opportunities, collaborative STEM projects, and entrepreneurial thinking. Our single-gender environment allows boys to take learning risks, engage in practical experiences, and build authentic relationships with our expert British teachers.
Future Specialisation (from 2026): When we open our senior section, we're planning two exciting focus areas:
- Entrepreneurial Skills & Business
- Engineering & Design Technology
These will give boys practical skills and real-world knowledge for future success.
Our school features expansive outdoor spaces, a large sports hall, and football pitch - perfect for active learning.
The Result: A British curriculum boys' school in Doha that combines traditional academic excellence with hands-on learning, preparing confident future leaders.

Yes, Qatari nationals are eligible to receive vouchers from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, worth QR 22,000 per year towards school fees.
Parents only pay the difference between the school fees and the voucher amount. For example, if annual fees are QR 52,812, Qatari parents with vouchers pay QR 30,812, payable in three termly instalments.
