Prep Curriculum
Depth. Discovery. Independence.
At Sherborne Qatar Preparatory School - Bani Hajer, our curriculum is defined by academic depth, intellectual curiosity and purposeful independence.
From the foundations laid in the Early Years to the academic depth and scholarship preparation of Years 7 and 8, pupils move through a carefully structured journey that builds knowledge, character and confidence in equal measure. At the heart of this journey sits the Sherborne Qatar Prep Diploma - a distinctive framework that prepares pupils not only for senior school, but for life beyond it.
In our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we prioritse independence, curiosity, and creativity, empowering our pupils to find their own solutions and take responsibility for their actions. Our 3 and 4-year-olds enjoy a safe and age-appropriate environment with their own designated play areas and outdoor classrooms, allowing them to flourish.
As our pupils transition from the EYFS to Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2), we carefully manage the process to ensure a smooth transition. Our 5 to 7-year-olds engage in multi-sensory and active learning opportunities, maintaining their enthusiasm while gradually embracing a more formal education.
In Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), we continue our rich thematic approach and leverage our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) scheme, enhancing the pupils' ICT skills and deepening their research and presentation abilities. As they progress through Year 6, our pupils develop self-belief, determination, and confidence, preparing them for the challenges that await them in the Senior School.
