A Message from Our Principal

As the Principal of Sherborne School Qatar, it is my absolute honour and privilege to welcome you to our British curriculum senior school. We are delighted that you are considering joining our ever-growing Sherborne community.

The Sherborne Family of Schools in Qatar prides itself on upholding six values that originate from Sherborne School, Dorset: Respect, Honesty, Kindness, Perseverance, Responsibility and Teamwork. These values are at the very core of learning and teaching that takes place across our school daily.

We are a thriving community where learning is at the heart of all activities. We take great pride in our holistic education, bringing skills and knowledge together with a positive blend of belief and structure—and like to go beyond the classroom to gain knowledge.

Our highly qualified staff bring exceptional experience in supporting pupils through our comprehensive pastoral system. This year we have allocated more time to ensure our PSHE programme is compassionate, caring and focuses on pupil wellbeing.

From Year 7 to the Sixth Form, we provide a nurturing and inclusive environment, welcoming pupils from various backgrounds and celebrating their cultural diversity.

Our mission is to cultivate well-rounded individuals with aspirations and the ability to achieve their full potential. Guided by our core values of Respect, Honesty, Kindness, Perseverance, Responsibility, and Teamwork, we create a positive and nurturing environment where pupils can flourish.

Expectations are high: pupils’ best attendance, best behaviour and best performance will inform their educational experience, equipping them to access their wide futures, supported and inspired by our astounding staff.

As Qatar's leading international senior school, Sherborne School ensures high-calibre learning and teaching, proven by our outstanding track record of university placements to institutions including Oxford, Cambridge, and leading universities worldwide. Our pupils consistently achieve above UK averages, with 49% earning top IGCSE grades and 100% pass rates.

We replicate traditions forged from Sherborne School in the UK here in Doha, and our House system continues growing in bringing pupils together, creating healthy competition and meaningful interaction across all year groups.

Skills and how we use them—whether through AI, on the sports pitch, or in our extensive enrichment programme—are vital to how we progress.

I look forward to meeting you on our wonderful campus in the near future.

Skills are vital to progress, and progress is much more important than perfection

At Sherborne School, we learn, perform, and grow the Sherborne WAY. What truly sets us apart:

Prestigious Shirburnian Heritage: We're the first overseas school operated by Sherborne School, Dorset - one of the UK's oldest and most prestigious independent schools, established in 1550. Our Shirburnian alumni include diplomats, politicians, journalists, actors, poets and musicians, demonstrating careers at the highest levels.

Where You Matter Most: Our holistic approach puts your child at the centre - not their results. We're particularly accommodating to families transferring from the UK, with outstanding pastoral care ensuring each pupil achieves their potential in a happy, nurturing environment.

All-Through Educational Journey: As an all-through school, we offer one of the most important advantages for parents - your children transition seamlessly within the same school from Prep to Senior School, eliminating the stress and uncertainty of changing schools whilst maintaining lifelong friendships and relationships throughout their entire educational journey.

Proven Academic Excellence: We consistently outperform Qatar and international averages, with PISA results significantly exceeding other Qatar schools in reading (570 vs 407), mathematics (555 vs 414), and science (575 vs 419).

Arabic & Islamic Studies Excellence: We honour Qatar's heritage through comprehensive programmes - Arab passport holders study Arabic as a first language up to Year 12, Muslim pupils study Islamic Studies, and all pupils learn Qatar History. This unique blend of British academic excellence with deep respect for local culture sets us apart.

We're conveniently located at the Grand Zone of the Mall of Qatar in Al Rayyan, with excellent metro and road links. Our purpose-built, modern facility opened in September 2021 and is designed to deliver outstanding modern and future-focused education.
